About Mark Skillman

Mark Skillman joined Westslope Properties in March 2008 to oversee the firm's land sales in southern Oregon, a region that he has called home for most of his life-and that has been the focus of his entire career. Mark is responsible for identifying large and small tracts of land suitable for sale as rural homesites, recreational properties, and other uses. Rural real estate is Mark's
... more professional passion. For the past 21 years, he has been a real estate broker, investor, and developer in southern Oregon, specializing in forest and farm properties, with additional experience in multifamily properties, private homesite development, and construction. He co-founded, owned, and managed a real estate firm in Medford, Oregon, and later developed a brokerage company dedicated solely to forest and timberland properties. Since 2002, Mark has been a licensed general contractor. As a rural land sales expert, Mark has extensive knowledge of Oregon's complex and frequently changing land-use planning laws. In 2003, he was invited to participate on a steering committee to rewrite the Jackson County land development ordinance. Mark enjoys many of the outdoor activities that southern Oregon offers, including cycling, scuba diving, and water sports. He has held a general aviation pilot's license for 20 years. An active member of his community, he was president of the local chapter of the American Diabetes Association and district committee chairman of the Boy Scouts of America, and has held various leadership positions in his church. Mark holds a B.A. from Brigham Young University in international business relations, with a minor in Japanese. He, his wife, and four children live just outside of Ashland.
